Lok Virsa museums to remain closed on 1st day of Eid July 18, 2021 Islamabad: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (NIFTH) Lok Virsa museums will remain closed on the first day of Eidul Azha. As per previous practice, both the Museums National Heritage Museum and Pakistan Monument Museum administered by Lok Virsa will reopen with routine public timings on the second day of Eid. Executive Director Lok Virsa Talha Ali said that a large number of people used to visit National Heritage Museum and Monument Museum on special occasions of Eid festivals and Independence Day celebrations. Talha Ali said that visitors should follow COVID-19 SOPs including wearing masks and social distancing.

Executive Director Lok Virsa, Talha Ali told APP, that both the museums would remain open for public from Tuesday to Sunday daily, between 10 am to 6 pm, with a break for prayer on Friday. He said Monday would be a holiday at Lok Virsa museum, adding all visitors would be fully facilitated and COVID-19 SOPs would be strictly implemented during their visit between 10am to 6pm. The heritage and Monument Museums are attracting a large number of people from different parts of the country, featuring cultural heritage.

Unveiling ceremony of “Quaid’s Vintage Car” will be held in Pakistan Monument Museum by Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, National History and Literary Heritage, Shafaqat Mehmood. Vintage car entrusted to the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (NIFTH) by family of renowned businessman Seth Eassaji Musaji from Balochistan. Lok Virsa has scheduled various events including photographic exhibition by National archives of Pakistan and book exhibition by National Library of Pakistan to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam, an official said on Wednesday.
