The Pakistani Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) announced on Monday the arrest of four people in connection with an attack on Chinese nationals northwest of the country last month. The Department said the four suspects are key operatives in the attack, which targeted a bus transporting Chinese engineers in the remote Besham area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The attack claimed the lives of five Chinese nationals. CTD said the four suspects are affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) group.
Pakistan confirmed on Friday that India sought the extradition of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed who is the mastermind behind the 2008 Mumbai attack as well as a UN-proscribed terrorist. Hafiz Saeed is wanted by Indian agencies due to his involvement in several terror cases.

At least two Pakistani Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officials were killed at a local hotel in Khanewal in Punjab, a senior official claimed.
Police officials claimed that the attackers were in the parking lot on a motorcycle, where they attacked the CTD officials. Director CTD Naveed Sial and Inspector Nasir Abbas were killed, while another inspector escaped unhurt, Geo News reported.
