No power. No water. No problem?
The COVID-19 emergency declarations San Antonio agencies had been enforcing since the beginning of the pandemic were defanged by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott s decision to lift the statewide mask mandate and occupancy limits for businesses.
Before Abbott s order came into effect Wednesday, XTC Cabaret a club on the North Side had been cited over a dozen times for violating local declarations. Officials eventually disconnected the club s power and water.
That didn t seem to stop XTC Cabaret s operations. On Tuesday, inspectors found a generator running and the club s sign lit. An employee was standing behind a podium outside the front entrance and people were going in and out of the building.
