A Sûreté du Québec officer who killed a five-year-old boy in Longueuil while driving at high speeds for no good reason told the provincial parole board he now regrets the choice he made.
Patrick Ouellet, 36, was recently granted parole less than two months after he was ordered to start serving his eight-month sentence when he lost his appeal in March.

On Feb. 13, 2014, Ouellet was assigned to UPAC and was part of a team conducting surveillance on a person being investigated by the anti-corruption squad, when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a car driven by the father of five-year-old Nicholas Thorne-Belance.
