I spoke with a couple of folks who came in from out of town, they said they wanted to get here early, be safe, have a nice din and h dinner and stake out a good spot to watch fireworks here along the embarcadero. Many people told us theyre staying in hotels, that this is a tradition to come to the city to watch the fireworks and be with the crowds. The crowds starting to fill up the embarcadero. What you see behind me is the median and on the other side people are lined up all the way to the water front. Like right now from our santa cruz camera. Waves are pounding the coast. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect along the Santa Cruz Mountains until tomorrow morning. Lets get the very latest on the conditions from Spencer Christian. Okay, that strong storm will be with us at least a few more hours. Heres a live look at doppler 7 and all of the bay area is covered with rain, most of it moderate to heavy. This has been the pattern the last few hours. Most of the moisture moving up from our southwest coming along with it some milder subtropical air. Its not going to be cold the next 24 hours. Check out the rainfall totals. Only 0. 07 at san jose. Over half an inch at napa, inch and a hal at mount st. Helena. Up to two more inches could fall and minor flooding is possible. A wind advisory is in effect until 1 00 tomorrow morning. Winds will range from 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour with gusts 45 to 55 Miles Per Hour especially in the higher elevations. Downed trees and power lines are a possibility. H
This current storm, ranks 2 on the storm impact scale. It will continue to produce moderate to heavy rainfall. It will be windy through the evening. We may see minor flooding. Wind advisory in effect until 1 00 a. M. Winds will generally range from 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour with gusts to 45. In the Higher Elevations, gusts will exceed 55 Miles Per Hour.
