Last week, large parts of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane were again left without water because of Rand Water’s inability to protect and maintain its infrastructure. This is exactly what happened towards the end of February 2022 when residents across the province were left without water for days on end.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng is demanding that Rand Water urgently put a turnaround strategy in place to address the constant failure of their infrastructure. Our residents in many parts of the province are once again left without any water due to a power failure at Rand Water's Zuikerbosch purification plant. This negatively impacts pumping at the following pumping stations:

The South African Police Service in Polokwane has launched a search operation for a missing teenager, Julia Nini Mahole aged 13, from Palmietfontein plots following her disappearance on 06 December 2020.
It is reported that she departed to town for shopping and never returned home. At the time of her disappearance, she was last seen wearing a black and white jumpsuit with green flowers.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact Warrant Officer Peter Mangakeng on 079 720 4825 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest Police station. Information can also be submitted via MYSAPS app.
