Iowa Lakes Community College enhances library with Clevertouch computer

Iowa Lakes Community College recently announced the addition of a state-of-the-art Clevertouch computer to its Emmetsburg campus library. The upgrade was made possible by a mini-grant of $1,184 awarded by the Palo Alto County Gaming Development Corporation. This grant has enabled the college to enhance its technological capabilities and foster interactive learning experiences for students and community members.

GRANT FUNDS TO VFW By Jane Whitmore - | May 11, 2021 GRANT FUNDS TO VFW – Iowa Lakes Electric Charitable Foundation presented grant funds of $3,000 to VFW Post #2295. The funds will be used to remodel the mens restroom at the VFW Post Home in Emmetsburg. Pictured at the check presentation were (from the left) VFW members Chuck Roberts, Larry Huberty and Gary Leonard, VFW Treasurer John VanOosbree and Commander Terry Chamberlain, Wayne Turck, Foundation board member Ruth Brown presenting the check, and Chamber Director Deb Hite and Kyle Auten from Iowa Trust & Savings Bank. Letters of recommendation for the grant were written by the Chamber, Iowa Trust and Martin-Mattice Funeral Home. The remodeling project includes making the restroom ADA accessible, new floor, urinals, mirrors, vanity, walls, sink and lighting. Spring Brings Changes to Downtown Emmetsburg By Jane Whitmore - | Apr 22, 2021 DOWNTOWN BEAUTIFICATION continues in the central business district with the addition of new waste receptacles. Gretchen Reichter, Marketing and Retail Coordinator, is pictured with one of the new containers. The waste receptacles feature a celtic knot design (see inset photo). New, brightly colored banners are already hanging from street poles. Recently, new waste receptacles were placed in the central business district. The next step is installation of new planters.
