The criminal case involving 53 military veterans accused of taking two ministers and a deputy minister hostage, has been withdrawn. The National Prosecuting Authority's Lumka Mahanjana confirmed on Tuesday that the case was withdrawn following successful representations by the accused.
The criminal case of 53 military veterans accused of taking two ministers and a deputy minister hostage has been postponed for a prosecution decision from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The accused appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday where they sang and danced until the magistrate arrived.
The director-general of the military veterans department, Irene Mpolweni, told News24 the programme would allow the veterans to forge a career path at Prasa.
