The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) released its latest report “Strengthening Border Connectivity at India-Myanmar Border” and hosted a Panel Discussion on India-Myanmar Connectivity on Friday. Prabhat Kumar IFS, Special Secretary (ER and DPA), Ministry of External Affairs was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Kumar praised LPAI for the crucial role it has played in facilitating safe and seamless cross-border movement of trade and passengers through land ports.
Egypt's Ambassador to India Wael Hamed said on Monday that the two countries will perform the first-ever military drills involving special forces in Udaipur,
Egypt is a 'valued partner' for India as it plays a 'pivotal role' in maintaining peace and stability in the Arab world and Africa, a top official in the Ministry of External Affairs said.
"We for the first time ever will hold joint military exercises with special forces participating together from Egypt and India in Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur. And we are expanding our defence cooperation not only to joint exercises of air forces and naval but also in special forces," Hamed said while addressing the media persons here in New Delhi.
Ausaf Sayeed, secretary (CPV & OIA), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Monday said India was looking forward to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi s visit to India as the chief guest for the Republic Day function.
