In a statement issued Monday, Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) officer Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro said the creation of the hotline centers will pave the way towards the adoption of the holistic, comprehensive, integrated and pro-active approach of LGUs, thus reducing socio-economic and environmental impacts of disasters, including climate change. In a phone interview on Thursday, Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) emergency operations center manager Shallom Balolong said the blue alert means that all the augmentation personnel and equipment are on standby for possible deployment if the need arises. He said the super typhoon may not directly hit the province, except for the western portion which might experience heavy to moderate rains and winds, as scattered rains will also be experienced in other portions of the province due to the enhanced southwest monsoon.

In a phone interview, Ron Castillo, Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office emergency operations center director, said they are on red alert status since Monday. "Our equipment and personnel have been on standby since yesterday awaiting deployment if needed," he said. As of Tuesday morning, Castillo said there were no reported landslides or flash floods as well as evacuation operations in the LGUs. "Some areas in Dagupan City and some barangays in Calasiao town were already flooded," he said. Castillo said the river systems in the province are still at normal level.
