A Kentucky employee for a medical laboratory was awarded $450,000 by a jury over an unwanted suprise birthday party that caused him to have a panic attack. The company, Gravity Diagnostics, later fired the man, identified as Kevin Berling, for allegedly being "violent" during a meeting with supervisors.

Kevin Berling told a manager that an office party would cause him immense stress. The company ignored his request, resulting in a panic attack and his eventual firing.
