This month I visited Iceland for the first time. It s a wonderful place of varied cultures, including the Vikings, and marvelous for viewing nature’s beauty and grandeur across the seasons. My wife and I tasted delicious seafood, lamb and other things. We enjoyed a dip in the Blue Lagoon and another geothermal spa. The people are uniformly welcoming and tolerant of lost foreigners. My wife and I rode horses there. We thought about life, our love and family, and the future.
The Yoon Suk Yeol administration in South Korea appears to be giving a befitting reply to North Korea’s “uncouth” and provocative behavior. After coming to power, the new administration has taken a tough stance and a tit for tat approach in its dealing with North Korea. The most recent example has been a large-scale military parade of South Korea on Sept. 26. It was interesting to see the South Korean military parade passing through the heart of the capital city and displaying domestically developed tanks, self-propelled artillery and the participation of American soldiers based in South Korea also.
The United States secures the return of an Army soldier who crossed the heavily armed border into North Korea from South Korea more than two months ago, senior White House officials say.
