PML-N MNA Javed Latif has been booked for violating coronavirus SOPs in Sheikhupura, it emerged Saturday. A large number of PML-N activists gathered at the Sheikhupura interchange to greet Latif following his release from jail Friday. He reached his home with the cavalcade. A government official, Shafaqat, filed the complaint against the PML-N lawmaker in the Sadar police station. The FIR named eight individuals, including two of Latif's brothers and his son, among 220 unidentified people. Latif was arrested in a sedition case in April. A court in Lahore ordered Wednesday the release of PML-N lawmaker Javed Latif on bail in a sedition case.
The judge approved his bail subject to submission of two surety bonds worth Rs200,000 each.
The PML-N lawmaker was arrested in April after his bail plea was rejected by a sessions court in Lahore.
Latif has been accused of making anti-Pakistan remarks on a TV show.

PML-N leader Javed Latif has been sent to jail on physical remand for 14 days in the controversial statements case.
He appeared before a Model Town court on Wednesday. Talking to the media outside the court, he said that the silence adopted by Punjab in the past proved to be unfair with Pakistan.
Latif was arrested on April 27 after a sessions court dismissed his bail plea.

A Lahore court extended on Monday the physical remand of PML-N’s Javed Latif in the controversial statement case.
He appeared before a Model Town court after his remand expired on May 10.
The prosecutor told the court that they have conducted Latif’s polygraphic test, and asked for a two-day extension.
He was arrested on April 27 after a sessions court dismissed his bail plea.
