With Thursday's heavy rainfall and threats of flooding, some Virginia school divisions are dismissing classes early.

Music for Everyone, the Lancaster nonprofit dedicated to cultivating the power of music, awarded $86,024.55 in grants to 47 schools and community organizations.

The upgrade will include sound and lighting upgrades, new flooring, new curtains and curtain rigging system, fresh paint and a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.

Crocheting and robotics might seem polar opposites — one an ancient handcraft, the other a futuristic skill built on intelligence.
