Indoor Hospitality Opens As NI Takes Further Steps Out Of Lockdown Indoor hospitality will officially open today, 24 May, as Northern Ireland takes further steps out of lockdown. Six people from no more than two households will be able to meet in homes and stay overnight. All tourism accommodation will also reopen. Post-wedding and civil partnership receptions can also take place. Elsewhere, over £96million has been allocated by the Finance Minister to support businesses which are the last to reopen and secure jobs. Construction work has started on a £6.5million shared social housing scheme in Armagh. Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey cut the first sod at the site on Ogle Street in Armagh City Centre. The development is being provided by Ark Housing Association with support of £3.4 million from the Department for Communities. The scheme is a Housing for All project which promotes sharing and integration in housing. The scheme will deliver 42 homes including a mix of town houses and apartments, including wheelchair accessible accommodation to meet the housing needs of citizens. Minister Hargey said: I have asked the department to begin the biggest reform of social housing in over 50 years. This includes building more homes, where they are needed. This new social housing scheme will provide much needed homes for families in housing need in the Armagh area. It reminds us too that homes make neighbourhoods and schemes like this create places where people want to live and

Vaccine Programme Opens For 25 to 29 Year Olds The Coronavirus vaccine programme has opened today, 20 May, for people aged 25 to 29 in Northern Ireland. Anyone born between 01/05/91 and 31/07/96 can book an appointment at one of the Trust vaccination centres. Health Minister Robin Swann said: Vaccination is vital in helping us move through this pandemic and there is no doubt that there are people in Northern Ireland alive today because they have been vaccinated. Next week we will see further easing of restrictions with the re-opening of licensed and unlicensed premises indoors, the remainder of tourist accommodation and the further relaxation to the rules over visiting indoors.
