The Nelson Mandela Bay municipality is experiencing bulk water supply challenges due to operational constraints and a leak in one of the supply systems.
After being forcibly removed from a plot in Hunters Retreat and relocated to a piece of land between Malabar and Westering in 2015, where they were provided with temporary structures, Parsons Vlei residents say they were dumped and forgotten.
The Nelson Mandela Bay municipality is to pursue the alleged transgression of a land use bylaw against a Parsons Vlei sand and stone quarry while the department of water & sanitation will investigate the legality of the operation. The two authorities were responding to concerns about the mine owned by Metro Quarries which was approved by the department of mineral resources & energy and energy (DMRE) nearly a decade ago.
The bokke came out to play in Summerstrand this week, or at least one of them did, when a mountain reedbuck found its way into a residential complex.
