Cheat Maker Of Valorant & Destiny 2 Agrees To Pay $2m Copyright Settlement

Cheat Maker Of Valorant & Destiny 2 Agrees To Pay $2m Copyright Settlement April 3, 2021 The operator of GatorCheats has agreed to pay a two million dollars ($2,000,000) copyright settlement to Riot Games, Inc. and Bungie, owners and publishers of two of the most popular online multiplayer video games in the world: “Valorant” and “Destiny 2”, reports TorrentFreak. For those unaware, in January this year, “Riot Games, Inc. and Bungie” (Plaintiffs) had filed a joint lawsuit in a U.S. court against the operator and creator behind a number of cheats and hacks for Valorant and Destiny 2 over copyright infringement offenses. The two companies had alleged in the lawsuit that Cameron Santos (defendant), is the owner and operator of the GatorCheats Website, and at times does business under other names, such as “Honeyhacks” and “Voidcheaters.” Under one or more of these business names, Santos markets, advertises, promotes, and otherwise facilitates the sale of the Cheating Software.

Valorant & Destiny 2 Cheat Maker Agrees To Pay $2m Copyright Settlement * TorrentFreak

> In January, Riot Games and Bungie sued the operator of GatorCheats in a US court, claiming that the cheat maker provided copyright-infringing tools designed to disrupt the gaming environments of Valorant and Destiny 2. According to a new filing in the case, the parties have agreed to settle, with GatorCheats required to pay $2 million and abide by the terms of an injunction. Cheating in video games has become big business. Just yesterday, the BBC reported that police in China had busted the “world’s largest” operation of its type, supplying cheats for games including Overwatch and Call of Duty. The operation was called “Chicken Drumstick” and reportedly generated around $76m in subscription revenues. However, there are plenty of similar businesses still in action, with others targeted by videogame makers in various legal actions, sometimes centering on violations of copyright law.
