He was assassinated in memphis, tennessee, while leading a sanitationworkers strike. But 10 years before that, he nearly lost his life in harlem. In 1958, at a book signing at blumsteins Department Store on 125th street, a mentally unstable woman stabbed dr. King in the chest.
