IBM unveiled a redesigned partner program Wednesday, with tiers for silver, gold and platinum partners; an accelerator program for new partners; and a promise of fewer direct customers, pushing more accounts to the channel

The initiative introduces fresh incentives, Insider Access, and enhanced support to help partners win clients

Clients should receive the same service from partners as they receive from IBM, the company says.

Partners will have until 30 June to skill up and transition to the new program.

Over the past couple of years IBM has been undergoing something of a transformation. While its mainframe and mid-range hardware offerings remain at its core, Big Blue has been looking to capture a slice of the $1 trillion hybrid cloud and AI market and help clients automate, secure and modernize their businesses.
