This girl and her family. She was crossing this busy street in randolph last night when she was hit by a car and killed. Now, laura viera of east boston, a few days shy of her 16th birthday was pronounced dead after being transported to Milton Hospital last night. Her family members were at the hospital and are now mourning her death. Police say laura was on foot crossing north main at oak street in randolph around 8 00 last night when she was hit by a 2000 chrysler lhs sedan. Police say she was in the crosswalk at the time but that the driver did have the green light. Police say the driver, a 21yearold randolph man stayed at the scene and was cooperative. Investigators say there is no evidence of alcohol or drugs. What we believe so far is that the driver of the vehicle did stop and make himself known to police and he gave statement.
