three hours of social media a day face a greater risk, in fact double the risk, of depression and anxiety symptoms. this is especially concerning when you consider the fact that the average amount of use by kids is 3 1/2 hours a day. the bottom line is, this is a real point of concern here. when nearly half of kids are telling us that social media use makes them feel worse about their body image, i think about that as a father with two young children. i want what every parent wants. i want my kids to grow up confident, feeling good about themselves, and they want them to be able to thrive. we should make sure that social media is, in fact, a place where our kids get benefits and where they re not harmed. so what does an advisory do at this point, in terms of spreading the message? i think a lot of parents are living the message, and social media has become a part of the fabric of young people s lives. it s not something, as a parent, you have a lot of power over. you have some but yo
