Jackson Township Fire Chief Tracy Hogue said his arm wasn t even sore after he received a COVID-19 vaccine shot. It was easy, and I would encourage people to take it, he said. I think it could be the beginning of the end of this.
Hogue and several other local health and fire officials said the number of first responders who opted to receive the initial shot in the past few weeks has been better than expected.
The Jackson Township Fire Department had 60 people about 66% opt to participate in the two-shot Moderna vaccine administered by local health departments. Only one employee had mild symptoms the next day, Hogue said.
