Kennett says he is actively considering Liberal presidency run Share Former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett plans to meet with the Liberal Party’s state president next week to discuss the possibility of taking over the role in coming months, a shift that could provide a boost to the struggling opposition. Mr Kennett said he had had many approaches to stand as president and would make up his mind after talking to the existing president, former attorney-general Robert Clark. Former Victorian premier and Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett is one of the state’s most prominent Liberals.  Pat Scala “Whereas once I would have said no, I am at least considering it given what I consider the importance of having an organisation that can fully support our federal colleagues in their upcoming election campaign and develop an effective opposition here in Victoria,” said Mr Kennett, premier from 1992-1999.
