A single mother who has overcome incredible odds after losing her husband is being celebrated as a âheroâ by her children.
Anne Nioa lost her husband in 1997 to bowel cancer.
The Pelican Waters woman was left to raise two children on her own, one of whom has Down syndrome.
Ariana, 27, is hoping to highlight the incredible support that her mum has given her this Motherâs Day.
âWhat my mother has done for me is amazing,â she said.
âI donât know where I would be without her, she changes my life every day.
âMy mum stands up for people like me every day; sheâs my hero.â
