ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - An Albemarle High School studentâs Literacy Campaign for Ghana has gained so much support that she says she now has over 3,000 books.
âI love to read,â Abena Afriyie said. âI will sacrifice a good nightâs sleep for reading.â
Afriyie is a junior at AHS. She says she has deep-rooted pride in being from Ghana.
âItâs a big part of my identity,â the student said. âI speak the language, eat the food,â
