Typically when photographing a sports team you want to position yourself such that the faces of the team you're covering are facing towards you (which would mean we are in the endzone that Michigan is trying to score in). This can change, of course, depending on the course of the game. If Michigan is playing Rutgers and the Scarlet Knights have gone through three quarters without a first down then you don't have to move around much. If the other team has a world ending offense it makes...

On the heels of several days of getting my soul restored after watching Hawaii's defense, I am back with this week's FFFF. No, it's not a good team this week. In fact, it's likely another very bad one, but I can guarantee you this piece will be less grim than either of the Hawaii ones from last week. Today we're looking at the offense for the University of Connecticut, who return to the schedule for the first time since 2013, when the main photo for this piece was taken ...

Of all the night games played in Michigan Stadium, that was definitely one of them. I hope you are all feeling fresh and well rested after the delayed night game experience. Because I am not. Night game atmospheres are fun until you hear Carl Grapentine say "good morning" and realize you mis-interpreted the phrase "Jim Harbaugh's players play on Sundays." I got to Detroit metro at 2 a.m. this morning to catch my 8 a.m. flight. It delayed four hours because our original p...

After a long campaign of wrestling bears in Alaska I'm so excited to be back on the sidelines in Ann Arbor alongside Bryan Fuller. Each week during football season the MGoPhotographers (typically myself and Bryan Fuller, along with some guest appearances in the past from Marc-Gregor Campredon and Paul Sherman) work hard to provide you amazing photos, which you can view on our Flickr page. This year I'll be highlighting some our favorite work each week on the front page. Sponsor Note:...

The basis for all recipes is Halleluiah BBQ sauce which is destined to make a name for the namesake restaurant in Apple Valley.

3/2/2022 – Michigan 87, Michigan State 70 – 16-12, 10-8 Big Ten Say what you want about Tom Izzo—please do so loudly and publicly—but you have to give him one thing: he offers satisfaction. You can beat guys like Chris Holtmann and Matt Painter and yeah it's nice to win a basketball game against a good team. They'll talk about what happened and it'll be nice. But at no point will you feel that cosmic justice has been done. You can woof at them and they'll say "he...

Harbaugh in the wind update. The Athletic clears some things up about what's going on in Harbaugh's head: …sources pushed back on the theory that Michigan’s handling of NIL will be a major factor in Harbaugh’s NFL decision. “Everybody’s got this so unbelievably wrong,” one source said, pointing to Cade McNamara, Blake Corum, J.J. McCarthy, Aidan Hutchinson and other Michigan stars who landed lucrative NIL deals, along with an arrangement that allows players to profit from t...

12/4/2021 – Michigan 42, Iowa 3 – 12-1, Big Ten Champions People just sang. YOU GOT TO PUMP IT UP. DONT YOU KNOW? PUMP IT UP. YOU GOT TO PUMP IT UP. DONT YOU KNOW? PUMP IT UP. pic.twitter.com/e2mWVCPpUT — Patrick Barron (@BlueBarronPhoto) December 5, 2021 There are many things that stoke my envy when I consider European soccer. First and foremost is the lack of commercials, naturally. Second on that list is the sort of fan culture that means you've just got a song and that's the ...
