Last week brought a lot of bad business news, and with it a new trend emerged: How CEOs apologize. Mark Zuckerberg announced the largest layoffs in Meta’s history. And in a letter to employees, he said something that is becoming all too familiar: an admission of guilt among tech CEOs, in a straightforward and blunt manner. “I got this wrong,” he wrote.

Here is a list of Meta and other tech company layoffs in 2022. Recession fears and rising interest rates have bludgeoned the industry.
