New data shows the number of traditional farms are in decline while solar farm construction is rapidly rising.

The Patrick County Board of Supervisors narrowly approved a small solar project planned within the town of Stuart at a regular meeting on Monday.

The 12-megawatt project would be sited on 211 acres southeast of the town of Stuart.
