A flood in effect for Martinsville and the counties of Henry and Patrick expires at 6 a.m. this morning. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations, or where there is poor drainage. Area creeks and streams are running high from rains that came earlier this week, so any additional precipitation could have a bigger impact than it normally would.
