A Floyd County man has been charged with driving while under the influence and other related offenses related to a head-on collision on U.S. Route 8 in Patrick County on Dc. 16 that left two teenagers with life-threatening injuries.

Micah Underwood, 16, of Floyd and Lauren Worley, his girlfriend, suffered life-threatening injuries in a car crash in Patrick County on Dec. 16. Underwood told police that when he rounded a turn on U.S. Route 8 at 9:35 p.m., he met an oncoming vehicle.

On Dec. 16, Lauren Worley and Micah Underwood’s lives flipped upside down after they were hit head-on by a suspected drunk driver off Route 8 in Patrick County.
