Police were called to deal with large, rowdy homecoming parties Saturday near Queen's University in Kingston, Ont., and Acadia University in Wolfville, N.S.

A police officer is being treated for injuries after objects were thrown towards law enforcement officials monitoring Queens University Homecoming Celebrations in Kingston.

Officials in Kingston, Ont., have issued a stark warning to partygoers ready to flock to the city for Queen's University's annual homecoming celebrations as they hope to avoid a repeat of the illegal gatherings over the Labour Day weekend. 

Queen’s University is giving the City of Kingston $350,000 to help cover the costs of responding to partying in the University District this year.

Over a thousand students at Queens University walked out of class Monday afternoon in solidarity with Western students and to take a stand against sexual and gender based violence.

As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout accelerates, institutions across Canada prepare to return to in-person classes through different health and safety policies.
