(MURFREESBORO) The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. march from Central Magnet School to the Patterson Center has been cancelled due to the icy weather. In addition, the event at MTSU has also been dropped due to the weather.

March Coordinator Shawn Brown told NewsRadio WGNS that they decided to cancel Monday's event because of the icing conditions coupled with temperatures not expected to rise much above freezing.

CLOSINGS for TUESDAY (01/18/2022)All Rutherford County Schools will be CLOSED on Tuesday (01/17/2022), due to secondary roads throughout the county remaining hazardous for vehicles to drive on. The county schools office will open one hour late for employees and personnel on Tuesday, but all schools will remain closed. Recreation Centers in Lawton, Fort Sill Reopen Today!
Good news! The City of Lawton just announced that Lawton Recreation Centers will reopen today
(04-12-21). It s been forever since we ve been able to visit the rec-centers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it s been close to a year now at least. All 3 centers have reopened the H.C. King Center located at
1405 SW 11th Street along with the Patterson Center at
4 NE Arlington Drive. It s great that we ll be able to return to the rec-centers and make use of all the facilities.
