the states may get cracked a little bit. in the second congressional district of new hampshire, there s a very close race going on, incumbent democrat paul hoge has it s a close race between a former congressman, charlie bass, a six termer who was one of the republicans who got wiped out in the 2006 purge of the gop candidates and incumbents, in all six new england states. he s now back, four years later, trying to win back that seat and his democratic opponent is ann mcclain custer, a very well known and quite popular liberal activist and former state lawmaker and the race is basically tied. it s a very small state, it s a small congressional district where everybody knows both candidates credit well, charlie bass is something of a moderate and he s being cast as an incumbent to blame for much of washington s ills by mcclain custer. it s going to go right down to the wire. when you flip
