Wisconsins busiest interchange is rising to new heights. Giant cranes will be moved into position to set in place four of those enormous blue tub girders, as theyre called. That actually holds the roadway up. They are the support for what will be the eastbound to northbound ramp in the zoo systan construction project manager, mark klipstein, says the interstate has to be shutdown because the work will be happen far up above the roadway. Theyre going to be lifted up and then theyre going to be airspliced up in the air. This would have actually gone over eastbound 94 traffic, so we cant allow that to happen. Its playing out so high above to road, in fact, that it marks a milestone of sorts for the project.
