HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Big Island farmer teamed up with Kamehameha Schools to present a large check to The Friends of Iolani Palace, which has struggled to keep the palace afloat financially during the pandemic.
Kaunamano Farm owner Brandon Lee raises organic Royal Berkshire hogs on Hawaii Island. Through a special promotion, the farm offered to donate $20 from each purchase of locally raised product packages to Iolani Palace.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - An annual winter tradition at Iolani Palace is on hold this year.
The 2020 Queen Kapiolani Evening Tours have been canceled in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Every year the special nighttime tours are held after Christmas and before New Yearâs Eve in honor of Queen Kapiolaniâs birthday, which is Dec. 31.
âWeâve made the difficult decision to put a hold on this treasured celebration to adhere to state guidelines and protect our community,â said Paula Akana, executive director of The Friends of Iolani Palace. âWe look forward to sharing this experience with guests once it is safe to do so.
