Sacramento County’s “Pavement Condition Index” — measuring the health of local roads — is currently at an embarrassingly low average of 48 out of 100.

Each year, streets are evaluated and identified for their need for pavement preservation and rehabilitation treatments through Road Rehab.

Improving local streets is a priority for city officials as they head into fiscal year 2023-24. They’ve allocated $16.5 million to pave the way for repairs.
