The North Peace Seniors Housing Society received $14,000, the Fort Nelson Family Development Society received $100,000 and NENAS received $73,400 to upgrade, modernize, or improve their technology.
The North Peace Community Foundation has established a fund to provide financial assistance to cattle ranchers who lost private fencing during the wildfires in the North Peace region.
In the letter, the Chamber said that many ranchers and farmers in the North Peace are "in grave danger" of not being able to properly care for their livestock for the rest of the year and into the winter feeding cycle.
