5 p.m.: Pick up mezcal, coffee, and fresh baguette for the house
Once we get in, our order of operations is to first stock up on essentials for the next couple nights. After a long day of travel, I want to have a nice bottle of wine or a splash of mezcal to decompress. We’ll hit up Time Market (444 E University Blvd.) right away; they have everything I would ever want or need at my house. There’s always great fresh bread if you’re hungry right away, plus delicious, reasonably priced meals like pizza if you don’t want to cook. Plus wine, candles, and coffee, which I need right away in the morning. I need coffee to go get coffee. We usually keep it pretty low-key on the first night, although, in truth, we keep it low-key every night.
