Bianjie launches first open-permissioned blockchain in China
Bianjie, the core development team behind IRISnet, has launched WenChang Chain, the first BSN (blockchain-based service network) Open Permissioned Blockchain (OPB) Initiative to go to market.
Powered by Cosmos’ interoperable blockchain ecosystem, WenChang Chain’s low-cost, user-friendly, open blockchain platform allows developers to deploy and implement smart contracts based on a variety of virtual machine environments and provides an interoperability standard for decentralized applications (dApps) to access and achieve invocation between smart contracts and off-chain data/computing.
A consortium blockchain implementation, WenChang Chain refactors the advanced underlying technology of public chains, including Cosmos Hub and IRISnet, to become compliant with Chinese enterprise standards and offers permissioned controls over node deployment and multi-level management of security. Tweeting on Monday, the Blockchain-based Service Network China’s blockchain infrastructure project announced that it had adapted Cosmos (ATOM) to its Chinese network. The Chinese BSN, unlike the international version, only supports permissioned enterprise blockchains.
Thus, the Cosmos integrated to the Chinese-only BSN is an Open Permissioned Blockchain, or OPB, version called Wenchang Chain. The hybrid was developed by Chinese blockchain startup Bianjie which is also the company behind the development of IrisNet.
While the country remains unfriendly towards traditional cryptos, it needs to expand on BSN tech.
With the addition of Cosmos, the BSN will make great advances when it comes to interoperability.
While China is known for being extremely supportive of blockchain technology, the same cannot be said for cryptocurrencies. Still, there are some projects that are exceptions from the rule, such as Cosmos (ATOM), which is expected to be integrated into China’s Blockchain Services Network (BSN).
China’s BSN project will support Cosmos (ATOM)
China’s BSN recently revealed the intention to add support for Cosmos (ATOM) to its platform, whose primary purpose is to push blockchain adoption in the country. However, another goal that the project has is to work on bringing interoperability among numerous private chains.
