“There’s a lot of good teams in that area,” first-year Lake City coach David Pratt said. “I like that we get to play them and get a feel for how those teams look. They’ve got such a big league, and we’ve played six of them. To see that level of competition was good for us, and we hope we can see them again later in the season. To play three in a row, it’s kind of a tournament feel, and really, really good for us.”
There’s nothing wrong with specializing, some kids have found a lot of success that way. But getting a few more kids to expand their abilities, could end up helping one area wrestling program in the long run.
“She’s grown a lot over the last few years,” Post Falls wrestling coach Pete Reardon said. “You could tell when she walked into the wrestling room she was in love with the sport and wanted to be a wrestler. She’s a gym rat, hangs around the sport and just loves all the relationships she’s made because of it. She’s got friends all over the place, so it’s really cool for her.”
