Van Leeuwen Launches New Line of Premium Ice Cream Bars in Dairy and Vegan Flavors

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Feb. 18, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, the nationally recognized brand known for its made-from-scratch dairy and vegan ice creams, has announced the launch of
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Bars, a new line of indulgent dairy and vegan treats inspired by classic favorites. The highly anticipated line is inclusive of three dairy flavors and three vegan flavors and are made from the same premium, simple ingredients that Van Leeuwen is known for.
Two New York-based restaurants, Best Pizza and Van Leeuwen, have opened outposts at American Dream Mall.
Best Pizza opened its first location in 2010 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Owned by Culinary Institute of America grad Frank Pinello, Best Pizza is known for its Sicilian-style pizza made in a wood-burning oven. The shop in American Dream is its first location in New Jersey. Pinello is also the host of The Pizza Show on VICE.
Van Leeuwen started out as a New York City ice cream truck using fresh, high-quality ingredients to make its treats in 2008. Owners Ben Van Leeuwen, Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O Neill later opened brick-and-mortar shops throughout the city and expanded to a few locations in Los Angeles. The American Dream stand will be its first in New Jersey.
Lefty s Famous Cheesesteaks, Hoagies and Grill, 8057 Kirby, opened December 15 with Houston Texans Chester Pitts, Roderick Johnson, Laremy Tunsil, Duke Johnson and Brandin Cooks in attendance to lend support to their teammate, Texans quarterback, Deshaun Watson. Watson, who became an owner of the brand in August this year, plans to open multiple franchises in Houston. Also on hand were Willie D and Z-Ro of the Geto Boys. President Sam Berry, CEO Allie T. Mallad and Watson are debuting Lefty s first location outside of Michigan. Berry, a 36-year-old cancer survivor, founded the fast-casual brand in 2010. It now has 23 locations in Michigan and twenty more stores are planned in the next four months including a second Houston location at 1010 Federal in January 2020. The company plans to open 150 stores across Texas.
Popular New York City scoop shop Van Leeuwen to open at Rice Village

Rice Village shopping district on Wednesday announced its latest tenant, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.
The New York City-based scoops shop will open at 2565 Amherst St. in Spring 2021, according to the release.
“We couldn’t be happier to be expanding to the Houston area. With its established ties, walkability, and bustling community, we knew Rice Village was perfect for our first venture into the Lone Star state,” CEO and co-founder Ben Van Leeuwen said in the release.
