A substitute teacher working at Elite Public Schools was arrested on Tuesday after cellphone video taken by a student showed him assaulting another student during an incident in the classroom May 20.

The motion, proposed by Peter Bregenzer, received majority votes by him, Vice Mayor Loera-Diaz, and Councilmembers Diosdado Matulac and Rozzana Verder-Aliga. The vote was made just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Prospective students in the audience shouted in disbelief.
