Cuomo grilled about reports of family getting COVID testing priority

Andrew Cuomo fielded a question on why his family members received preferential treatment in getting tested for coronavirus in the early months of the pandemic, and gave a possible explanation as to why people like his brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, were able to get tested more easily than the general public. During a Q&A period following a budget briefing, WCBS 880’s Peter Haskell directly challenged the governor on the matter and asked what his role was. Andrew Cuomo appeared to distance himself Wednesday from allegations that his administration ordered that his relatives and political allies including CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, the governor s younger brother   be prioritized for COVID testing in the early months of the pandemic. Major winter storm dumps snow across the Northeast

The storm warnings currently stretch from northern Georgia to Maine. So far, northern and central New Jersey have already been hit with nearly 2 feet of snow and another foot could fall by Tuesday evening. Heavy snow, gusts topping 60 mph and white-out conditions have caused numerous accidents and grounded more than 1,600 from Washington, D.C., to Boston. The storm has also knocked out power and forced COVID-19 vaccination sites to shut down across D.C., Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

It is to be expected that there will be some improvement in business for Easter but no real resumption of business until later, when the orders for fall and winter goods begin to come in.
