William O’Driscoll, 40, was handed the County Court order in November after what police described as months of threatening behaviour. Barely a month later, after he was sentenced at the magistrates’ court for other matters, he was arrested for breaching the injunction.

Town centre officer PC Paul Bezzant said: “O’Driscoll repeatedly offended against the order in such a short period of time which showed his blatant disregard for the judge’s directions and the police and Swindon Borough Council’s efforts to protect the community from his persistent anti-social conduc
