Rising from a meeting of its stakeholders, the Nigeria Labour Congress on Monday voided the national convention that returned the National Chairman of Labour Party, Julius Abure, and his National Working Committee.

Crises in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) slipped a notch lower, yesterday.This was as dozens of PDP House of Representatives members demanded the immediate resignation of Acting National Chairman, Umar Iliya Damagum.

Obi said this in a statement by his spokesperson, Dr Yunusa Tanko on Tuesday in Onitsha.

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has said that Nigeria has nothing to do with poverty "if political leaders, including my humble self, had decided to serve the country faithfully."    Obi added that the only way to address permanently the effects of poverty and insecurity in Northern Nigeria was through agriculture and industrial revolution.
