WORTHINGTON Nearly 50 people gathered Monday night for the first of what will be several informational meetings this year to discuss plans for the Lake Ocheda enhancement project in Nobles County.
Attempts to draw down the water level of Lake Ocheda in order to kill the rough fish in the lake that harm water quality aren't going well, due to factors including rain and a vegetated slough.
Part of a beaver dam slowing the planned drawdown of Lake Ocheda has been removed, but rain and plant-filled slough are making it harder to lower that water level.
