BENTONVILLE -- Following the success of the inaugural cohort in the spring, the University of Arkansas, Fayettevilles Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program is nearly doubling the number of nascent companies its supporting, with three months of intensive support to seven in the fall.

FAYETTEVILLE -- Academic and community collaborators are sharing economic development ideas at this weeks inaugural SEED Summit, which focuses on supporting entrepreneurial spirit.

For two John Brown University graduates, success has come quick.

In 2013, Katherine Andrews earned a degree in finance from the University of Arkansas and went to work for the Hathaway Group, a Little Rock commercial real estate firm. Three years later, she moved to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, which she described at the time as "the sales team for the state."

BENTONVILLE -- The first cohort of the Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program, a business incubator focused on outdoor recreation entrepreneurs, graduated in late April, and the participants say the program has magnified their chance for success right out of the gate.

The first cohort of Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program (GORP) companies include custom climbing ropes and a bike rental concierge.
