LOWELL — A multicultural and cross-continental vibe infused City Hall July 25, as the chamber welcomed a visiting governor from Kenya. The Honorable Joseph Ole Lenku, regional governor of the county of Kajiado, Kenya, thanked the council and city leadership for their hospitality to him and First Lady Edna Lenku during their impromptu visit last Tuesday.

LOWELL — There was no music nor hats and gowns, but plenty of pomp and circumstance, as the second cohort of city department heads and staff received their diversity, equity and inclusion certificates from Middlesex Community College President Phil Sisson during a ceremony prior to the City Council’s meeting on Tuesday.

About 4,000 Lowell High students have taken more than 5,100 classes through the Early College program, earning nearly 10,000 total credits toward a college degree.
