Pangilinan-led Philex Mining Corp. is investing in a gold mining project in Itogon, Benguet as it gears up for the expansion of its Padcal Mine.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has commenced an inquiry into the selloff in shares of telco giant PLDT.

Pangilinan-led Philex Mining Corp. has extended the life of its Padcal mine by another three years up to 2027 after confirmatory drilling yielded additional mineable reserves.

The core earnings of Philex Mining Corp. declined by 17 percent to P1.54 billion from January to September this year compared to P1.86 billion in the same period last year on the back of lower copper prices and metal output.

It has been said that mining can be a most effective driver for economic growth and national development if allowed to flourish.
