More than 1,400 women, children and men are preparing to take their next steps in faith by joining the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. They will be received into the church at Easter.
At St. Philip Benizi Church’s “I Thirst” program on Feb. 26, about 50 people had a chance to reflect on the plight of those living in areas without access to clean drinking water while sharing their faith before the Lenten season. Majok Marier, who escaped war in South Sudan, spoke about his drinking water project.
Parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta are offering Lenten opportunities to mark the liturgical season. This includes confession, fish frys, Stations of the Cross and other spiritual events.
